How to join your remote consultation
At Petra Jewellery, we are feeling the full impact of being in lockdown so we completely understand how dark and lonely the world can seem. However we want to encourage our wonderful customers to not concentrate on the things you can't control, but instead concentrate on the things you can!
This is where we come in.
We can then bring some sparkle back into your life by providing an online design consultation, where we can discuss anything from resizing a ring, to fixing a broken chain, to melting down a collection of old pieces to create a bespoke design just for you.
Once you have booked your slot for your remote deign consultation, just follow these simple steps to get yourself set up and ready to share the sparkle!
1. VISIT WWW.ZOOM.US
Once your appointment is booked, you need to visit zoom.us . If you need help booking an appointment, please visit our 'how to book an appointment' blog by clicking this link: (insert link here)
To use zoom, you need to be using a device that has both webcam and audio features. If your computer does not have these, your smart phone or tablet will :)
This will take you to the zoom homepage.
2. SIGN UP - IT’S FREE!
If you do not already have a zoom account, just click the button that says 'sign up for free'.
3. TYPE IN YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS
It will then take you to a page where you need to type in your email address, then click the 'sign up' button.
4. ACTIVATE YOUR ACCOUNT FROM YOUR EMAIL
Zoom will then send an email to the email address you input. Once you receive the email, simply click the 'activate account' button.
5. CREATE YOUR ZOOM LOG IN DETAILS
This will then take you to a screen back on the zoom webpage where you will need to input your details and create a password.
Once you have done this, click the continue button.
6. SKIP THIS STEP
The next step is where you can invite friends or colleagues if you would like to. As your designer will already be set up, there is no need to do this so you can simply click the 'skip this step' button :)
7. HOST YOUR MEETING
Now you are all signed up, you need to host a meeting. Click the ‘host a meeting’ button in the top right hand side of the Zoom home screen.
8. ALLOW THE PAGE TO RUN
A pop up will appear asking you whether you would like to allow the page to run. Simply click allow.
9. TURN ON YOUR MICROPHONE
You should the be able to see yourself on the screen, and an image will appear where you just need to click the ‘join with audio’ button. This will allow us to hear you.
10. SEND US AN EMAIL WITH THE ZOOM ID
Now you are on Zoom! Now all you need to do is invite your designer to join you! To do this, at the top of the screen you will see a Zoom ID. You may need to hover the mouse over the top of the screen to reveal this if you are using a pc :)
Then simply copy and paste the below email, filling your name and zoom ID into the gaps, and email it over to info@petrajewellery.com.
Hi, this is [insert name],
I am on zoom and ready for my remote design appointment!
The Zoom ID is [insert zoom ID]
See you soon!
Your designer will then join you after a few moments to begin your remote design consultation :)
